Two Ways that Corn Can KILL You?

I know that article title may sound shocking, a little disturbing, and quite frankly, almost impossible…

And of course… eating some corn flakes, corn bread, or tortilla chips on occasion, even if they are genetically modified and unhealthy are NOT going to put you immediately on your death bed (although they're NOT helping you to get a lean healthy body either!)corn and our food supply

But, hang with me here for a minute, and I will show you at least 2 indirect ways that corn CAN kill us.

To start, let us relate this back to how screwed up our food supply is these days…

If you have been reading my newsletters and my books/manuals, you have probably heard me preach a billion times by now about how important grass-fed meats and dairy are compared to the typical corn-fed meats and dairy that comprise about 99% of what is available at your typical grocery store or restaurant.

But I have found that a lot of people do not fully understand how vastly important this single aspect of our food supply really is.  You can tell them that grass-fed meats and dairy are healthier for them than grain-fed, but most people still have this attitude of "I don't care, it's all the same to me".

OH NO MY FRIEND, IT IS NOT THE SAME!

So let's dive into the 1st deadly scenerio that is CAUSED by corn in our industrial food system…

We already know that cattle are designed by nature to eat grass and other forage… their stomachs were not designed to handle eating large amounts of corn.

But due to our backwards farming practices which originate solely from the economics of cheap corn and factory farming, the vast majority of our beef comes from factory farm raised cattle that were force-fed corn for their entire existence, instead of being given access to eat their natural food – grass and other forage.

Since the stomachs of cattle were not designed in nature to properly digest large amounts of corn, their digestive system essentially gets sick, and this allows dangerous bacteria such as E. Coli to proliferate, which can cause food poisoning.

When cattle are allowed to eat their natural diet, grass and other forage, E. Coli issues become almost non-existent.

So how does corn KILL?

Well, thousands of people DIE every year (particularly children and elderly are at most risk) from E. Coli poisoning.  And even when the sicknesses and/or death from E. Coli occur from vegetables, this is usually caused by runoff from a factory corn-fed beef farm that contaminated produce at a downstream farm.

This is just one of the reasons I almost ALWAYS eat healthy grass-fed beef and bison instead of dangerous and unhealthy grain-fed meats.

And this is just one of the indirect ways that corn kills.

Luckily, in most states that I have lived, I have been fortunate enough to find grass-fed farms (and even some that deliver to cities as well) instead of being forced to purchase unhealthy grain-fed meat and dairy at the grocery store.  I also order grass-fed meats online at this site  (one of my favorite sites for grass-fed meat, and surprisingly convenient, as the meats show up at your door in a cooler still frozen)

The second indirect way that corn kills

Okay, here's the second indirect way that corn can kill, and it has to do with the nutritional problems associated with corn-based products and derivatives, and the prevalence of corn derivatives in almost all of our processed food.

Let's list a few examples to start:

1. Corn-fed beef produces lower nutrition levels in beef, lower healthful omega-3 fatty acids, and a 10-20x higher level of inflammatory omega-6 fatty acids. The more factory farmed corn-fed beef that you eat, the more that you are blasting your body with excess chronic internal inflammation by throwing your omega-6 to omega-3 fatty acid ratios out of proportion.

Chronic inflammation can lead to eventual heart disease and possible death.

Once again… CORN KILLS.

2. Corn Oil is in a huge quantity of processed foods.  Not only is this heavily refined oil unhealthy in many other ways, but once again, it throws that natural balance of omega-3 to omega-6 fatty acids out of proportion inside your body, leading to chronic inflammation.

Corn oil is also mostly made up of highly unstable polyunsaturated fats, and due to the high heat processing (and also the use of toxic solvents in corn oil processing), this makes corn oil particularly inflammatory inside your body — similar to the inflammatory nature of soybean oil, which you should avoid as much as possible.

Once again, this means that corn products lead to internal chronic inflammation, which can lead to heart disease and possible death.

Corn kills.

3. High fructose corn syrup (HFCS) – this has become a major ingredient in almost ALL processed foods over the last couple of decades, due to the lower cost of production compared to sugar.  In fact, it is so prevalent in processed foods, it is almost impossible to avoid if you eat any processed foods at all like ketchup, salad dressings, tomato sauces, etc.  Even breads and cereals have HFCS in them now.  And if you drink sodas or other soft drinks, forget about it…you're ingesting massive amounts of this dangerous substance.

Knowing how lethal this "corny" syrup is to our health, I am amazed it's not illegal at this point… of course, that would never happen because of the economics and BIG business involved in the corn industry.

Long term use of HFCS can not only cause obesity, but also diabetes, premature aging, and a host of other health issues.  You can even read about a study showing evidence that HFCS is worse for you than sugar, here.

Obesity and diabetes can eventually cause death.

Once again… CORN KILLS.

4.  Did you know that approximately 85% of all corn produced in the US is genetically modified?  Some scientists (that aren't influenced by big business) believe that GM corn, soy, and other GM crops could cause major long term health issues for our entire population, even if acute health issues are not observed.  I know this is a controversial topic, so we won't go into further detail on the GMO issue in this article.

I know this newsletter may seem a little over-dramatic with respect to corn being the basis of our food supply and being dangerous, but it's about time that people start understanding what's in our food supply and how it affects their health and their family's health.

Unfortunately, the majority of people do not value their health until they have lost it. That is a sad fact that will probably always be part of human nature.

So what can you do?

The best thing you can do is to CONTINUALLY educate yourself and your family on nutrition.  Study everything you can get your hands on about nutrition. Read and understand labels.  Choose organic.  Choose all unprocessed foods at least 95% of the time.

A couple documentaries that I've watched and I'd highly recommend for you and your family are Food Inc. and also King Corn… both are very informative documentaries, and entertaining at the same time.

Also make sure to read my article that shows my #1 nutrition lesson for a true healthy diet.

I know this particular article was all about corn, but did you know that wheat and soy (and their derivatives) are also two of the WORST parts of our food supply?

My article here shows an appalling statistic that the average person eats 67% of their calories from corn, soy, and wheat products, and why that's a disaster for your health!

In the spirit of continually educating yourself and your family on nutrition, my good friend Isabel De Los Rios is actually one of my most respected nutritionists that I trust.
